I am so incredibly excited that we are finally in the single digit countdown!! It seems like only yesterday that I even signed up for the races!
Now that we’re getting down to the wire, I’ve begun making my packing list. I have never had to pack to run two races before, so I want to make sure I have plenty of time to get everything together and make sure I’m not leaving anything out!
My Disneyland organized chaos :)
So I present to you – my packing list!
For the races
- 2 pair running shoes (in case it rains)
- 4 pair compression socks
- 2 pair compression sleeves
- 2 sports bras
- 10k outfit
- half outfit
- sunscreen
- water bottle
- knee brace
- KT Tape
- Ziploc bags (for ice)
- sunglasses (I’ve heard the sun is a killer)
- poncho
- fuel for race (still deciding on specifics)
- Gold Bond Friction (like Body glide)
- Nuun
- SpiBelt
- energybits
- plenty of ponytail holders
- Garmin and charger
- armband
- Handana
- Biofreeze
- compression pants (to wear the night before the half)
- Road ID
- waiver
- Princess drawstring backpack (to make bag check a little easier)
- Princess medal (for Coast to Coast photo ops!)
- portable phone charger
So that’s what I’ve come up with so far! This list doesn’t include my “normal” clothes…I’m more concerned about leaving any running related items behind. If you have anything to add please let me know!
Get excited, kids…it’s almost here!
Until next time,
Is the comment about "in case it rains" geared towards ME!?!? :)
ReplyDeleteI actually didn't even think about that when I was writing this :p
DeleteGreat idea to bring the Princess medal for C2C pics!!
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks!
DeleteI have a spare bedroom that I pile all of my 'to be packed' items up in - lol can never be too safe!
ReplyDeleteThis is what I've done too...the guest bed is covered with race stuff :)
DeleteSo jealous you're going to Disneyland!!! Can't wait to hear all about it! Make sure you have a camera or phone to take pics with the characters during the race! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I plan to have my phone with me to take pics and tweet along the way!
DeleteLarger Ziploc bags for any stinky post-race attire, so your entire suitcase doesn't smell like a high school boy's gym bag when you return home. Maybe extra bags for shoes too.
ReplyDeleteThis statement made me laugh! :)
DeleteHaha me too!
DeleteYou can forget about rain. I am a SoCal native and it has never rained. This is not Florida. I would still bring 2 pairs of shoes though, because you should wear a different pair each day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip!
DeleteThis is super helpful, thanks for sharing your packing list! I just started the packing process for DL, myself...and I'm TOTALLY more concerned with my running essentials than I am with "regular" clothes! :-D
ReplyDeleteHappy to help! I'm looking forward to next weekend!
DeleteI'm so excited for you, you are going to have such a great time. I will be going away labor day weekend for Virginia beach trip and race and cannot wait! Gotta start my packing list!
ReplyDeleteYou'll have a blast in Virginia with your girlfriends :) I look forward to hearing about that too!
DeleteLooks like a good list! I agree with Jill on the plastic bags to put stinky clothes in! TOTALLY saved me during PHM! I would also say bring extra bags for ice if you want to ice after the races.
ReplyDeleteI do have the ziploc bags for ice...I'm definitely adding a larger one for smelly clothes :)
DeleteFingers crossed I can get around to packing this weekend! Good for you being prepared!
ReplyDeleteIt's almost here!!! Get to packing lady! :)
DeleteGreat list! I'm bringing extra safety pins, just in case I misplace them either before the 10k or between the 10k and half.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great one Kim! I have a plethora of safety pins and will throw some in my make up bag :)
