I had such an AMAZING run Thursday night. I decided to do a 5k around my neighborhood, and after the less than stellar run I had on Tuesday, I was really hoping to make this one even better. I was a little under a minute away from my PR and I felt so incredibly great afterward! No knee pain, no leg pain...it was seriously a great run.
Last night's run was not as great, but it wasn't horrible either. I did a 3 mile run around my neighborhood. I have to say that I am getting better at only walking during the walk intervals, so I'm pretty proud of myself for that!
Last Friday my company had a service day - we got to pick the organization of our choice to volunteer for the day. I split my day between two - the Humane Society of Forsyth County and You Lucky Dog Rescue. At the Humane Society I cleaned one of the cat rooms and got to play with some of the pups

My afternoon was spent picking up a couple of pups that wandered onto someone's property. No one claimed them, and they had a hard time finding a rescue to take them. You Lucky Dog agreed and my first assignment with the rescue was to pick them up and take them to the vet to get them checked out before they go to their foster homes.
We adopted Guinness from a rescue in Birmingham, and since it's not easy to volunteer with them, I'm happy to have found a local rescue that I can get involved with.
Be on the lookout for some giveaways coming soon!
Until next time,
Jen
How adorable! I've never volunteered at a shelter, but it seems like it would be so much fun. This makes me want to look into it ASAP!
